Typographic suburb

Chorlton-cum-Hardy is a suburban area of the city of Manchester, England, known locally as Chorlton. The letters making up the word ‘Chorlton’ are hand painted in black on a yellow background using enamel paint. There are four yellow sections, each of which is made of reclaimed metal. The yellow metal sections are mounted on black board.
